Guys. I’m pretty amazed right now. Here’s why…
I met one yesterday. Her name was Sister Helen Eunice. We had a long chat. And honestly, I think she may just have changed my life. Here are five unbelievably amazing things that sister Helen Eunice said to me…
Sister Helen Eunice: Stop controlling everything. Give in to life and you’ll find heaven
Why it’s amazing: So many of us spend too much of our time trying to control the future. But life is lived in the moment. When you learn to live in the moment, you find complete serenity.
Sister Helen Eunice: God gave your life only to you. Why do you think he did that?
Why it’s amazing: Because it’s true. Our lives are all completely unique and individual. Whether we believe in God or not, we should value our lives absolutely. There’s a reason we’re living the lives we’re living. Realising that our lives are of value is the first step to living a life of value. (I know I’ve talked about this a lot on our Facebook Page, so sorry for repetition).
Sister Helen Eunice: You have to love yourself first. Then you’ll find it’s easy loving everyone else too.
Why it’s amazing: So much of our anger is based on resentment and jealousy, which stems from feeling of inadequacy about ourselves. When we learn to love and appreciate ourselves, we learn to love and appreciate other people too.
Sister Helen Eunice: I love cupcakes
Why it’s amazing: I laughed so hard when she said this. I don’t know why. I suppose it’s because it made me realise that nuns really aren’t too different to the rest of us.
Sister Helen Eunice: We all have Gods, even if yours isn’t the same as mine. Believing in something is what really matters.
Why it’s amazing: I fell silent in shock when she said this. I always thought a nun would tell me that I need to believe in the Christian God or I’ll go to hell. Actually, Sister Helen Eunice accepted me as a non-believer. Personally, I find that pretty impressive. (note: I don’t know whether most nuns would have done the same…?)
Thanks a ton Sister Helen Eunice! You have inspired me so much!
